After school she enrolled in the Ohio Valley Nursing Program moving to Columbus, Ohio she was employed with The Bank of Ohio. She was chosen to represent the High School in numerous competitions throughout Ohio and other states. In Steubenville, Ohio she graduated from Wintersville High School, where she excelled in the marching band playing the clarinet.
